Abstract of grant
The purpose of this project is to enhance an existing graduate level initial certification program to prepare highly qualified teachers of students with high incidence disabilities.
- Goal 1: Improve the recruitment system to increase the number of highly qualified teachers in special education including teachers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Goal 2: Design and implement an effective preparation program focusing on math and science instruction at the middle school level.
- Goal 3: Design and implement improved mentoring and induction support.
- Goal 4: Identify and put in place technology to support the program effectively.
