Abstract of grant

Goals

The purpose of this project is to enhance an existing graduate level initial certification program to prepare highly qualified teachers of students with high incidence disabilities.

Goal 1: Improve the recruitment system to increase the number of highly qualified teachers in special education including teachers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Goal 2: Design and implement an effective preparation program focusing on math and science instruction at the middle school level.
Goal 3: Design and implement improved mentoring and induction support.
Goal 4: Identify and put in place technology to support the program effectively.
